Shaggy Dog Roll Ingredients

The Shaggy Dog Roll is a sushi restaurant classic — crispy, creamy, a little bit spicy, and a whole lot of flavor! Here's how to make this maki at home.



  • 3 cups white sushi rice
  • 1/4 cup sushi rice seasoning
  • 5-6 sheets of Nori paper
  • 1 package of crab meat
  • 5 tempura shrimp
  • 2 whole avocados
  • 7 imitation crab sticks
Optional toppings:
  • 2-3 TB sesame seeds
  • 1-2 tsp spicy mayo
  • 1-2 tsp teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tsp Sriracha
  • 1-2 tsp chopped green onion

Ingredients 1 (13 ounce) container of Nutella 2 1/2 cups 2% milk 1/3 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup corn starch 3 egg yolks 2 tablespoons butter For the Topping Whipped Cream, store-bought or homemade Grated dark chocolate Instructions Transfer the Nutella from the container to a large mixing bowl using a spatula. Add about 1 cup of the milk to the Nutella and stir to combine. Once smooth, add more milk and continue stirring. Add the rest of the milk and give it a last stir.
